Hi, I'm Terry!
I've loved animals for as long as I can remember. I was born & raised right here in Southport, NC and have lived here most of my life, with the exception of five years when I lived in Chapel Hill. While I was there, I earned my associate degree in Animal Care & Managment from Alamance Community College.
Growing up, there was always an animal in the house. Over the years, I've had dogs, cats, gerbils, chickens, snakes, fish, and so much more! I've always had a soft spot for animals, and I've always wanted a job where I can not only work with them, but help them live a long & healthy life!
My husband and I currently share our home with our giant Lab/Pit mix, Piglet, and our two cats, Luna & Gouda. Piglet is an absolute sweetheart who is convinced he's a lap dog, even though he is 95 lbs! Luna has been my best friend since we got her in 2020. Gouda joined the family in 2024 and quickly made herself at home! Between the three of them, our house is never boring!
I joined the Unleashed team in 2022, and I quickly fell in love with the people & the pets that come through our doors every day. I love getting to know our customers and their animals and being part of their lives, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Over the years, I’ve gotten to watch puppies grow into their big-dog personalities, meet countless new pets, and make some wonderful connections. For me, that’s what makes working at Unleashed so special. I get to spend my days surrounded by animals and people who love them just as much as I do.
When I'm not at the store, you'll probably find me in nature. I love hiking, exploring new places, walking on the beach, and spending time surrounded by plants & animals! I'm also passionate about wildlife & nature photography, so I'm usually carrying a camera and keeping an eye out for birds, wildlife, or anything else that catches my eye.
