Hi there! I'm Johnny. I'm originally from eastern North Carolina where I was raised on a farm that produced both tobacco and cotton. I've had four-legged friends since I was a child, including a persnickety black cat named Max and a clumsy, affectionate beagle named Buddy.

My current furry companion is George, a 14 year old Pomeranian that I rescued when he was 10 months old. Although now a “senior,” George is as confident and curious as he was when we were first introduced. His tenacity has definitely not waned with age.

I spend most of my time reading philosophy, practicing yoga, and writing short fiction. George and I love to go for long walks, particularly on Spring days when North Carolina's beautiful weather is on full display. George loves to scout Raleigh's abundance of paths and greenways.  In particular, he loves to sniff the trails around the North Carolina Art Museum.
